By John Ekongo WINDHOEK Police are on the lookout for a rapist who is suspected to be responsible for a series of rape cases in the Okanguati area, of the Kunene region. Sources said in some instances, the suspect perpetrated the crime on two consecutive days. It is alleged that on May 23 this year at around 14h00, the suspect raped a woman aged 24 in the area. He reportedly assaulted and pummelled the woman with fists, causing her severe injuries. The next day at 11h00, the suspect struck again allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman in her house whereafter he hit the woman with his elbow, resulting in her losing two teeth. Again on Sunday, the suspect apparently raped a 13-year-old girl in the same area. Reports say that the suspect abducted the girl and raped her in the bush. In all incidents, cases of rape and assault with grievous bodily harm as well as a kidnap charge have been registered with the police. Police in the area strongly suspect that one man is committing the rape. The suspect is still at large. "We are looking for him with vigour and seriousness," said the police.
