WINDHOEK-What was promised to be one of the spectacular and memorable show last  Saturday here, ended smashingly when the duo Nhlanhla Sibongile Mafu Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwe, known as Mafikizolo, showed complete  intimacy with the Namibian fans at the University of Namibia (Unam)’s pavilion. Those who thronged the pavilion were treated to a diverse line up of musical acts, arts and entertainment such as DJ’ing, snacks, free shot champagne and different competitions. The event was also aimed at celebrating the Monate festival.  With great traditional foods and drinks sold at the pavilion, it made the show even more successful and one of its kind. More than thousand music fans witnessed the great genre of Afro Pop and Kwaito plus House music from the legendary Mafikizolo who didn’t disappoint the Namibian music lovers. While listening to heart-stopping local and international melodies, get down to funky beats, and to  appreciate local arts, eats, and treated to the hive of entertainment, Ru CuteGeek was first to grace the stage with her songs Incredible Hulk and Township. Up then was Dixon with Namasalo and Okashushu remix. The show got better when the Kwaito act, Exit, was next thrilling the crowd, with his dancing styles and great moves. The screaming couldn’t stop as female artist, Sally, known as Boss Madan, ascended to the stage leaving the crowd screaming for more. But there was no denying the electrifying effect of Mafikizilo as the top bill of the day. They first performed their old songs still raving the Namibian charts like Nakupenda, Let’s meet at the river, and they also performed some new songs from their new album Reunited. But their House song, Khona, could not but send the crowd into a frenzy Their music deals with pertinent social issues such as women and children abuse, poverty, the importance of education and the dangers of casual sex.   By Pinehas Nakaziko
