Windhoek Yasiel Palomino Perez’s exhibition, Colourless, is opening at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre Gallery on Monday. The Cuban artist’s exhibition has been inspired by the increased dehumanisation in our contemporary world. Perez says with the decline of empathy and an increase in inequality on all fronts, mankind still finds it hard to motivate change. “I take this dark fact of our world and used it as inspiration to create Colourless. My artworks speak of an internal turmoil. The exhibition is a great example of how our surroundings leave impressions on us all,” says Perez. Although Perez has exhibited in Germany, Italy and Russia, it is the first time he will be in person at his exhibition since it is the first time for him to leave Cuba after travel restrictions for its citizens have been relaxed. The exhibition will run until August 28.
