Windhoek A six-year-old was allegedly raped by her uncle in Havana informal settlement on Saturday. Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi, Head Media Relations in the Police Public Relations Division, informed the media at the weekly crime briefing that the girl was raped by her uncle after the mother allegedly left her alone in the room for about 30 minutes. Upon her return she found her brother raping the child. The 21-year-old fled and has not yet been arrested. The girl is receiving medical attention at the Katutura State Hospital. In a separate incident, on Friday a 45-year-old man shot both his wife and son in the head for unknown reasons at Ndiyona Village in the Kavango East Region. The woman, Shitshoni Rosalia Shirenge, 33 died on the spot, while her son, Mutero Alexius Vipanda, 7, succumbed to injuries on Saturday at the Rundu State Hospital. The next of kin have been informed. On Friday at 22h45 at Brakwater a 62-year old man was robbed at gunpoint by unknown men. The suspects allegedly gained entrance to the property through an open window and removed two cellphones, two pistols, a hi-fi portable radio, clothes and fled the scene with his vehicle. The suspects have not been arrested. On Sunday at 7h45 Murangi Michael Vetuamuje, 42 was found hanging on a tree by a passerby who alerted the police. His next of kin have been informed.
