Windhoek An unidentified man, thought to be in his 30’s, was found dead in a riverbed between the Single Quarters in Katutura and Khomasdal early yesterday morning. According to a preliminary police assessment the man appeared to have been struck on the head with a hard object and suffered a stab wound to the body. Members of the public discovered his lifeless body on Monday and immediately alerted the police. In a separate but possibly related incident a woman, who sustained a cut to her throat was admitted to hospital in Windhoek. It is believed that she and the murdered man found in the riverbed yesterday were together when unknown assailants attacked them. Police investigators were on the scene yesterday and fine combed the area for clues to the crime. Khomas Regional Commander Commissioner Henrich Tjiveze said the police could not yet determine whether the two incidents are related. He said the woman still appeared dazed and confused and only she would be able to shed light on what happened to her.
