WINDHOEK Parents who wish to register their children for The Spooky Reading Night at the Goethe Centre on Friday night have until today at 17h00. The Goethe Centre is once again hosting its annual Halloween children’s event tonight, titled The Spooky Reading Night. The event has enjoyed great popularity in the past and now in its third year, is set to be bigger and scarier. The Spooky Reading Night is a sleepover for children, aged 7-12, that takes place at the Goethe Centre over Halloween. The night is going to be filled with various activities, ranging from reading, theatre, poetry and dance to name a few. Registration fee is N$60, which includes all meals. The event starts at 18h00 this Friday and ends at 09h00 on Saturday morning. It will comprise the following activities: ghost songs and ‘how to sing a monster away’ with Toshi; spooky dance performance; dramatised reading of short spooky stories; crafts and activities; Halloween themed theatre sports; theatre play. Registration is essential; thus parents should get in touch with Detlef Pfeifer via email: info@nads.org.na or telephone: 061 225 700. There will be a short closing off ceremony with a theatre play on the morning of October 31, from 08h30 to 09h30 that parents are invited to and encourage to attend. This will give them a glimpse of what the children had enjoyed the night before. The sleepover will take place at the Goethe Centre, 1-5 Fidel Castro Street, Windhoek central.
