United States president Donald Trump has agreed to suspend tonight’s planned bombing and strikes of Iran for two weeks. He said the suspension was subject to Iran agreeing to the ‘complete, immediate and safe opening’ of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump’s statement came after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked the US president to extend a deadline for a deal and Iran to fully open the strait. Trump had earlier warned that US forces would attack Iran’s bridges and power plants and had given a deadline expiring on Tuesday night.
