Windhoek
The publishing of a short and handy Occupational Health and Safety Manual for Namibian Agriculture was one of many highlights at ast week’s 28th annual congress of the Agricultural Employers’ Association (AEA), held in Windhoek.
Based on inputs of the 214 AEA congress, management and other individuals, as well as the professional knowledge of Herman Engelbrecht of Safety Risk Services, the booklet contains valuable advice to Namibian farm workers. The booklet is aimed at reducing risks and accidents during farm work such as handling animals, borehole work, extinguishing veld fires and several others. Further useful advice is given on first aid and hygiene to address injuries and illnesses.
Bank Windhoek financed the printing costs of the booklet which has been long overdue as farm work can be dangerous.
