The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) handed over a mobile clinic worth N$300 000 to the people of Grunau on Wednesday. 

Speaking during the handover of the mobile clinic, deputy minister of health Utjiua Muinjangue said the ministry is indeed grateful that the PDM has taken this positive step to support the community in this practical way as this will inspire others to donate in future.

“The regional level oversees 34 health districts, and consists of 14 regional directorates that are charged with the functions of implementing health programmes at regional and district levels to ensure equality and access to care within the districts,” she explained.  Muinjangue said service provision has, however, been hampered at some outreach points due to health system challenges like the availability of transport, human resources and the emergence of disasters.

In his statement, PDM president McHenry Venaani said they will continue to provide mobile clinics to all constituencies countrywide. 

Venaani said his party received US$10 000 (over N$140 000) from the Taiwanese government last year to help people with Covid-19.

“We decided to use the money we received last year and launched our manifesto, which is one Namibia, one constituency, one clinic,” he stated. Venaani said the PDM will ensure that it is going to meet government halfway in terms of service delivery to the people, adding that his party will ensure that all Namibians have access to health clinics.
