Town council, Rani Group donate to hospital

The Oshakati Town Council and Rani Group have donated gloves, thermometers and disposable facemasks worth N$72 000 to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital last week.

The equipment were received by the Oshana governor Elia Irimari and medical superintendent at the Oshakati hospital Dr Asumani Kibandwa. Irimari applauded the town council and Rani Group for being caring institutions to ensure healthcare workers have sufficient clinical equipment, especially during this devastating moment of Covid-19.

Rani Group assisted with N$62 000, while Oshakati Town Council gave an amount of N$10 000. Oshakati mayor Hango Leonard said his office would continue to meet government halfway, so that, together, they will fight this deadly pandemic.

Kibandwa said he is grateful for the vital clinical equipment. “If there are other people out there, they should also come and assist the hospital because we are still in need of more equipment,” said Kibandwa.

Kibandwa said the community should go and vaccinate because Covid-19 positive cases are increasing every day – and added that on Friday, 60 patients with Covid-19 were admitted to the Oshakati hospital.
