Windhoek
Electricity Africa, the publicity and event arm of RDJ Consulting Services, a wholly-owned Namibian enterprise operating under the branding of Electricity Africa, will host Namibia’s first ever Solar for Development International Exhibition and Conference on October 13 and 14, 2016 at the Windhoek Country Club & Resort.
The event is dedicated to showcasing existing practical solar projects in the country that show the utilisation of solar power for national development and effective service delivery. The relevance of this event lies in its awareness-raising opportunity to demonstrate current achievements of the nation and the wider world.
Lahja Amaambo (Senior Advisor: Renewable Energy at RDJ Consulting Services), said: “This event allows for the clear demonstration of the potential that solar energy development can bring. This is apparent in the number of projects completed to date that are helping to meet electrification and modern energy services as well as the Harambee Prosperity Plan and Vision 2030 amongst others.”
“We have taken the stance that the private sector must work hand in hand with government to move the country forward. As a result, it is important to bring all sectors of society under one roof to celebrate our successes and look at the lessons learnt moving forward,” said David Jarrett, Managing Consultant at RDJ Consulting Services.
Electricity Africa is confident that the conference will provide a networking opportunity to debate technical, policy and financing issues, including topics such as the impact of solar on gender empowerment, health, ICT and education to name a few. Running concurrently with the conference, the exhibition will display and demonstrate the latest technology applications.
