All systems go ahead of Women Super Cup final

Organisers of the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Women Super Cup yesterday announced the prize monies for the winner and runners-up of the pre-season tournament, with the Cup winner expected to walk away with a handsome N$40 000.

Tournament director, Tovey Hoebeb, said apart from the N$40 000 reserved for the winner, the runner-up and third place finisher are guaranteed to each take home N$25 000 and N$15 000 in that order.
An amount of N$10 000 has been reserved for the fourth placed team and N$6 000 for the fifth placed side, while the sixth placed team gets a consolation amount of N$4 000.

The NFA Women Super Cup, which is in its second edition, will conclude this weekend with the final slated for the NFA Technical Centre in Katutura, where Galz & Goals FC will face Tura Magic Ladies.

With Galz & Goals FC and Tura Magic Ladies facing off in the final, Khomas Nampol will contest V-Power Angels in the third-place play-off.
At yesterday’s press conference held at the NFA Girls Centre at Football House, Galz & Goals FC head coach Ronnie Hoxobeb said: “The girls are excited and ready for Saturday’s encounter, we know our opponents and the kind of team that they are. We also know how to handle their ability. Overall, the girls are physically and mentally ready for this match.”

For his part, Tura Magic Ladies gaffer Shama Gure said his charges are ready for Saturday’s final and their aim is to clinch the title – having lost out in the last edition’s final to Khomas Nampol.

“We are itching for the grand prize as we reminisce how we could not win this title during the last edition. We are looking forward to Saturday’s final and I think the team is well prepared and ready for this game,” he added.
