More than ten small business owners from the Moses //Garoeb constituency in Khomas have received equipment and material from the regional council.

The equipment was handed over by the councillor of the Moses //Garoeb constituency Aili Venonya.

Venonya said the Namibia government has recognised and acknowledged the importance of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector within the economy.

The income-generating activities support programme empowers entrepreneurs economically with materials and equipment to establish or expand their micro businesses.

The value of the materials and equipment handed over to the Moses //Garoeb constituency SMEs total N$18 000.

“I am, therefore, urging all the beneficiaries to embrace this golden opportunity, work hard and use the materials and equipment for the intended purposes,” advised Venonya.

The materials and equipment given were for
auto repair, take away, tailoring, and welding, tuck shop and salon equipment.

Monica Milanda, who received a sewing machine, told New Era it would help her complete her projects easier.

“I am so grateful for this machine, it is now time to work hard to ensure that my business is making money to buy food and help my family,” she said.
