Woman dies in bed with boyfriend

The Namibian Police at Swakopmund are investigating the mysterious case of a  31-year-old woman who allegedly died at home while in bed with her boyfriend.

It is alleged that the deceased, who was identified as Padelia Nghiimbwasha, passed away at home. According to a report that was brought to the police, the boyfriend allegedly travelled from Karibib the previous day for a visit. While in bed, he allegedly noticed that something might have gone wrong with her. He thus ran out quickly to inform the deceased’s aunt, who then notified the police and an ambulance.  The scene was visited by the police and medical personnel from the Swakopmund State Hospital. “The deceased’s body was taken to the hospital for death certification by a doctor, and for storage at the mortuary. No other unusual or suspicious clues were detected at the scene, and no foul play is being suspected so far. Her next of kin have been informed. The post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” said the police in a crime report.

The police are also investigating a case of attempted murder after a man was found unconscious in a pool of blood on Friday after midnight. “A report was received from G4S that there was a man found lying in a pool of blood in the street without clothes on Friday at 01h28 in Frans Indongo Street, behind Woermann Brock, Mondesa,’’ said the police.

The response team found the victim bleeding from the head and face, and he was unable to speak. He was then rushed to the Swakopmund State Hospital with an ambulance, and was later transferred to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital in Windhoek. The victim is brown in complexion, muscular and medium in height and has a Rasta hairstyle. His clothes were found torn next to him.

“He is not yet identified, but two suspects were arrested, an adult male of unknown age as well as a 37-year-old man,’’ noted the police.

New Era was further informed that the police are investigating additional allegations which emerged that the victim allegedly tried to rob the suspects.

The police have requested anyone with information which may assist in identifying the victim to urgently contact deputy commissioner Erastus Iikuyu on cell 0812464757, detective Cletus Kabuku on cell 0813910671 or the Mondesa police station on 064415007.
