AC Boxing bonanza slated for July

One of the fastest-growing local stables, AC Boxing academy, yesterday announced another exciting bonanza, scheduled for July in Windhoek.

The bonanza will take place on 2 July at NamPower Convention Centre in the capital and will be headlined by Flaim ‘Special 1’ Nangolo, who has a record of nine fights with nine wins.

He will square off against Zimbabwe’s Ndondawa Ncube, who boasts a record of 11 fights with eight wins and three losses in the main bout. In the supporting bout, Alfeus ‘Mosquito’ Shaanika will take on an opponent, who is yet to be announced.

During a press conference held at FitCity in Southern Industry, promoter and trainer Imms Moses said this bout would be a great platform for boxers who did not get an opportunity to fight during their previous bonanza to showcase their talent.

He also revealed various boxers from the stable sustained injuries during their last competition, and they could take a break from the ring.

He said the bonanza will aim to prepare the young prospects for bigger fights that could arise.

“As promoters, it’s our job to keep these boxers busy – and that’s the reason why we are planning to have a bonanza in July. We have various boxers who did not fight during our previous bonanza, and I believe this would be a great platform for them to showcase their talent,”

“Overall, the bonanza will serve as a platform to keep the boys ready for a bigger bout that can happen. We will continue to give them opportunities to prepare themselves for bigger things,” he said.

Also fighting during the event will be Fillipus Amwaama, who will go toe-to-toe against Shipahu Deocor in the super lightweight division, while Ruan Rispel will face Alweendo Nicanor in a lightweight division.

Petrus Salom will fight against Helma John in a featherweight division, while Andreas Johannes will take on Shikukutu Jona in a lightweight division.
