Airport Gets Prestigious Award
By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) was recently awarded the Professional Management Review (PMR) Golden Arrow Award for excellence. The awards were presented on February 22. PMR Africa bestowed the award on the airport as one of the top achievers in the business sector category: airports. The award is based on last year's market survey by PMR and is aimed at rewarding companies and organisations for outstanding achievements and contributions to economic growth and development in Namibia in their business sectors over a period of 12 months. Acting airport manager, Bernard Sinvula, attributed this milestone to the improved capacity of the airport terminal services as a result of capital injection of over N$50 million over the past three years. This saw an increase and variety in the retail mix, increased number of check-in counters, boarding gates, introduction of a designated cargo terminal and modernised restaurant and duty free outlet. Sinvula said that dedication, hard work and effort of his personnel, third party service providers and government agencies were the pinnacle of this achievement. ??????'??
