Alleged robber injured during arrest
WINDHOEK – Natangwe Hamata, the alleged robber who sustained injuries during his arrest, could not make his scheduled first appearance in court yesterday as he needed to be hospitalised. Hamata was arrested on Monday after he allegedly robbed Nico Muller at knifepoint of his cellphone and cash near Nampower Convention Centre on Friday night, October 11 2013. State prosecutor George Mhoney told Magistrate Ingrid Unengu that the suspect, Hamata, was in the Katutura State Hospital under police guard and they had to put the matter on the court roll to stay within the 48 hours rule which state that an accused must be presented in a court of law within 48 hours of his arrest. Unengu granted an order of removal for Hamata and remanded the matter to October 22 for him to be formally charged.   By Roland Routh
