"By Emma Kakololo WINDHOEK - Bank Windhoek's tenth Candidate Bankers Training programme (CBT) was officially launched yesterday. A total of 28 students will participate in its empowerment and development programme. With an annual investment of N$410 000, the Bank Windhoek Candidate Bankers training programme, also known as the Bank School, strives to equip students with sufficient knowledge and experience to start a career in the banking industry. The aim of the Bank School is to enable candidates to adapt easily within any banking environment and be able to handle job responsibilities ranging from back office to teller functions. The 28 students will undergo five months of intensive practical training at Bank Windhoek and become multi-skilled through attachments to different departments within the bank. After completion of the programme, they are free to join other banks in the event that they are not taken in by Bank Windhoek. To date, the majority of graduates have found employment with the bank while some were identified to participate in the bank's Accelerated Career Development Programme, which aims to fast track the careers of identified staff through training and mentoring. The candidates for 2005 are Catharina Esterhuizen, Clifford Ganaseb, Lempie Joel, Donovan Beukes, Maruschka Claasen, Chrisna de Waal, Louis van Vuuren, Evaristo Kavikairiua, Kavenatjivamuna Mberirua, Albert Kahembe, Josefata Johannes, Nancy Tjaverua, Danvil Julius, Maggy Bassingthwaitghte, Talitha Naris, Nadia Myburgh, Undjizuva Kamapunga, Sakarie Amakali, Loina Nghuulikwa, Sylvia Likando, Micheal Liyali, Cecilia Bester, Florian Camphausen, Fiona Muranda, Alta van der Merwe, Benestus Kamatuka, Vaino Shapwa and Charlene Klaase."
