Bank Opens High-Tech Learning Centre
"By Fifi Rhodes WINDHOEK The Deputy Minister of Finance, Tjekero Tweya, last week Wednesday officially opened a new learning and development centre of Bank Windhoek. The learning centre is located at DÃÆ'Æ'Æ'ÃÆ''šÃ‚©cor House building in Dr W Kulz Street where Cosmos Radio is located. The centre is a top-class educational facility established for the training and educational purposes of Bank Windhoek staff members and the employees of its subsidiary company, Capricorn Investment Holdings. Reading a statement on behalf of the Minister of Education, Nangolo Mbumba, the Deputy Finance Minister Tjekero Tweya said the education ministry recognized the important contribution that Bank Windhoek was making by equipping staff members with skills and knowledge that will lead to higher levels of socio-economic development and growth of the country. He said the ministry wished to congratulate Bank Windhoek for investing in the establishment of the Training and Development Centre that would ensure high quality employees within the financial services industry. The centre has a boardroom and two training halls, the Waterberg and Brukaros rooms, which can accommodate groups of 25 people each. It is also equipped with a cafeteria that serves as a breakaway venue to stimulate effective learning through group discussions. The computer laboratory, the Etango room, is endowed with the latest technology that further ensures high quality training of staff members. James Hill, Managing Director of Bank Windhoek, said that learning is one of the five values of Bank Windhoek, which emphasizes the importance of the development and growth of the bank's staff members. ""The Training and Development Centre is an oasis of knowledge where staff members from different branches and departments can share, discuss, advise, solve problems, but most importantly, learn, and in doing so, be equipped to better serve our clients,"" Hill said."
