Being organised is being in control

Wilhelmina Iimene

Wineland Ashipala has a keen interest in craft and a great eye for interior décor. She loves aesthetically pleasing environments, and believes in the saying that “being organised is being in control”.

Her business, Naango Interior Baskets, is doing just that… helping one keep their home or office neat and tidy.

The baskets are all handmade storage compartments, which can be used for their own preference. With a variety of sizes and designs, they are perfect for storing or holding towels, clothes, toiletries, toilet paper, fragrances, laundry, literally anything and everything essential around the house.

“I cut and shape balsa/cardboard and dress it up in burlap and cotton,” she told Youth Corner.

The baskets are a good addition to bedrooms or bathrooms, as they add a touch of neatness and glamour to the environment.

These pretty minimalist storage containers are a good idea to stylishly organise a room or area, and to keep clutter away to make it feel more spacious. They are “must have” items.

Ashipala said the business came to life from a stirring idea in her heart to start a business.

“One day, I took my journal and decided to take a walk, and that is how the idea came to me.”

She said she always wanted to venture into the business industry, but of course, with something unique and something she was passionate about and not just any type of business.

The 24-year-old University of Namibia alumnus, who holds an Honours degree in Environmental Biochemistry, finds pleasure in making her clients happy and so far, the feedback has been positive.

Ashipala is a scientist at heart and by profession, and is fervent about the environment, health and safety.

Speaking about the business industry she is venturing in, she said that it is not an easy road to follow, but it is rewarding to the one who works hard and is determined.

“It doesn’t matter how saturated the industry is though, if God placed the idea in your heart, he will supply and sustain,” Ashipala said.

Her target market is anyone who loves pleasing aesthetics and storing things away in compartments.
