Bidvest Cup Round-of-16 this weekend...action at three different venues
WINDHOEK - It’s getting down to serious business again in the Bidvest Namibia Cup as teams head into the Round-of-16 of the country’s biggest football spectacle. Matches will be played at three different venues, the Windhoek’s SKW Stadium, the Sam Nujoma Stadium and at the Kuisebmond Stadiums at the coastal town of Walvis Bay. All matches will be played this weekend, with some starting today at the SKW Stadium. Tomorrow at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, reigning champions African Stars will face a tricky task of negotiating their way past little-known Omaheke NAMPOL at 15h00, while Tigers takes on Julinho Sporting in an all-premiership clash that will also conclude the day’s proceedings. Meanwhile, today at the SKW Stadium, Khomas 2nd Division side Java-Java confronts Orlando Pirates 19h00 before Black Africa lock horns with Rebels in what promises to a jaw-dropping affair between the two outfits at 21h00. At the Kuisebmond Stadium, Erongo 2nd Division side Swakopmund FC will do battle against premier league outfit Citizens at 11h00, followed by a clash between Young Chiefs and Touch & Go at 13h00. Clashes between Eleven Arrows and Kangweru Black Tops (15h00) and Blue Waters against Unam (17h00) will conclude the day’s activities. Tickets are available at all Computicket outlets at Shoprite and Checkers stores countrywide for N$30.00 each. The 2015 Bidvest Cup Man of the Match award comes with a prize of N$ 2000, will officially start from at this weekend until the semifinals. In the final match of the competition, N$5000 has been reserved for the Man of the Match winner who will be voted by the members of the media.
