Boxer launches charity boxing bonanza

Amateur boxer Silvanus Denzel will host a boxing bonanza next month to raise funds to support the day care centre he runs with his partner in the Goreangab informal settlement of Windhoek.

The 22-year-old boxer and his partner Aluteni Nangolo operate the centre to assist children in the community to combat hunger and malnutrition.

Denzel told New Era Sport yesterday they hope to raise more funds to continue feeding children in the community.

“I will host the boxing bonanza under the Khomas Boxing Federation (KBF) on the 30th of October,” he said.

The bonanza is free of charge for spectators but Denzel urged boxing fanatics to come through and support the businesses that will be operating on the
day.

“We want people to support us through buying food and other refreshments that we will sell on the night of the event.”

Denzel said growing up in a less-privileged home motivated him to always be generous towards others, and also help contribute to the early childhood development of impoverished children in the country.

He urged good Samaritans to assist in any way they can to help raise funds for their centre.

“We want people to come and support us in any way possible – even if it means bringing three of your friends to come and watch while enjoying a drink bought from our stalls. That would mean a lot to us,” said Denzel.
