Brave Warriors’ skipper Ketjijere demands goals galore
Windhoek - As far as Brave Warriors captain Stigga Ketjijere is concerned, scoring goals and dominating the match with huge ball possession is the only way to beat the Scorpions of Gambia. Namibia take on Gambia on Friday in the first leg of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Banjul, with the 2nd leg set for the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the capital on Tuesday, October 13, at 16h00. According to the highly rated box-to-box midfielder Ketjijere: “The lads are pumped up and the response is great going into Friday’s match. Everyone is up for the game. It is a game where we need to start well and we will go out to hunt for victory. That is the ultimate aim for this team. We want a good result by the second leg in Windhoek.” The University of Pretoria (Amatuks) schemer adds that the Warriors will adopt a very offensive approach to the game as they go all out to put the opposition under pressure. “We will play our normal pressing game, try to keep possession and create chances and try by all means to score goals as well. We have been playing well in Africa but we don’t score. The team understands what is at stake now and we go into the game with a clear aim of getting the goals once we get into their final third.” Team list: Virgil Vries, Maximillian Mbaeva, Chris Katjiukua, Willem Mwedihanga, Benyamin Nenkavu, Hendrik Somaeb, Denzil Haoseb, Dennis Ngueza, Ananias Gebhardt, Willy Stephanus, Benson Shilongo, Wangu Gome, Deon Hotto, Ronald Ketjijere, Heinrich Isaacks, Joslin Kamatuka, Petrus Shitembi and Absalom Iimbondi. by Staff Reporter
