WINDHOEK - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women Championship inspection team was recently in Namibia to inspect various facilities such as hotels, stadiums and training grounds and also deliberated on a few issues with various stakeholders including government ahead of this year's 9th edition of the women's competition to be hosted in Windhoek on October 11-24. According to the Namibia Football Association (NFA) President John Muinjo, the delegation arrived on Monday. “They visited different accommodation places in Windhoek and identified three suitable hotels which will be revealed once all technical matters are finalized. One will be for the CAF delegation, one for the visiting seven teams while one is for the match officials. So far, everything is going according to plan,” said Muinjo, who also added that upon conclusion of their inspection trip, the delegation will report back to CAF on the outcome of their trip to Namibia. The CAF inspection team was led by CAF Executive Committee member Dr Molefi Oliphant, who is the Chairman of the CAF Women Championship Organizing Committee, CAF Deputy Secretary General Essam Ahmeb, CAF Senior Manager for Women Football Competitions Heba Abdalla and Sarah Mohammed, who is the Manager for TV and Marketing. The delegation was expected to leave Namibia late yesterday. The second and final qualifiers will start on May 23-25 as 14 teams go head to head to decide the final seven teams that will be joining hosts Namibia for the CAF Women's Championship, which will also act as the qualifier for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada next year.
