Chapman appointed as Bank Windhoek’s new chief financial officer
Windhoek Bank Windhoek has confirmed the appointment of James Chapman as its new chief financial officer, with effect from September 1. Chapman takes over from Philip Oberholzer, who left the employment of Bank Windhoek on July 22 to pursue personal business interests. Oberholzer served on the executive management team of the bank since 2003. Chapman, a Namibian by birth, is a chartered accountant with more than nine years experience in accounting, finance and transactions and has worked on engagements across the southern African region, including Namibia, South Africa, Malawi, Botswana and Zambia. He was appointed by Capricorn Investment Holdings in March 2013 and was then attached to Cavmont Bank in Zambia on secondment from CIH. Chapman served on the senior leadership team of Cavmont Bank, primarily to provide group executive support to the chief executive and finance function of the bank. “I would like to welcome James to the Bank Windhoek family and wish him a long and prosperous career at the bank. I look forward to his contribution to the executive management team and in leading the finance department,” said Bank Windhoek’s managing director Baronice Hans.“I would like to make use of this opportunity to thank Philip Oberholzer for his contribution to the executive management team for so many years and wish him the best of success for the future,” Hans said.
