2016-03-24Staff Report 2 Firing up the grill is what will be happening for the coming weekends starting today in Wanahenda.According to the organiser of the Barbecue gathering, the event aims to bring different people together at the same venue to make new friends and at the same time start off the Easter weekend with a flame. “Such events don’t time place often anymore like they used to. There's nothing better during these long weekends than gathering up all the new and old friends as well as family for good old-fashioned barbecue. Swing on by and meet some great people and extend your network within Windhoek,” says Elias Lukas, one of the organisers of the event. Lukas adds that as a young group of organisers, they are seeking to make the gathering more multi-cultural and to have a broader array of discussions with people from more diverse backgrounds. “This is a great opportunity to meet dynamic personalities on a different dwelling. It will be an open laid back atmosphere where one can mingle. This is a chance to put work aside and have some fun so everyone is invited,” he says. There will be all kinds of drinks for sale as well as barbecue meat at affordable prices.The barbecue gathering takes off tomorrow at 17h00 until late, on Saturday and Sunday at 14h00 until late and next week April 1 (Friday) at 17h00 and Saturday and Sunday April 2 and 3 at 14h00 until late in Wanaheda (Yukon Street, Erf no. 1800).
