Dancers need sponsors for OVCs’ fundraiser
"WINDHOEK- Tov HIV and AIDS Orphans & Vulnerable Children Organisation will host a Non-stop Dancing Event next Saturday, May 30, at the Tov Multi Purpose Centre in Tsumeb. Reverend Edward Amadhila, the Organisation’s Technical Adviser, says the show will be held to raise funds to meet the organisation’s short term plan. “Instead of just asking for money, we decided to have a non-stop dancing show to raise something on our own,” he says. “Children will be dancing non-stop from 07h00 until 17h00. There will be at least two people dancing at a given time. When the two people are tired they will be immediately replaced by two other people and during the event the music will play non-stop. We asked our friends to donate N$2500 per hour for the dancer,” pleads Edward. Dancers are encouraged to dance to what they like, and the audiences are welcomed to join the dancing flow. “Our vision is to be self-sustainable, self-supportive and self-propagating in all our activities and ensure that disadvantaged children in the community are given the assistance to finish their education, tools to build self-esteem and confidence so that ultimately they will be able to exercise self-determination,” says Amadhila. He adds that Tov was created to respond to the growing number of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in the Oshikoto region. “Our mission is to provide material and emotional support to OVCs and their families.  Tov seeks to improve the daily lives of OVCs while promoting messages on HIV prevention, providing daily meals and empowering OVCs to reach their full potential. Tov takes care of 54 children. The show is free and everyone is welcomed to join the fun. CAPTION: Neiseb Abraham, one of the 54 children benefiting from the TOV HIV and AIDS Organisation in Tsumeb. Next Saturday the organization is having a dancing even to raise funds. Benefactor are invited to sponsor the dancers.
