David reaches TLC final
WINDHOEK David Mbeha will represent Namibia having made it into the top 12 finalist for TLC’s Next Great Presenter Competition. The 20-year-old Economics student was selected from hundreds of entries contesting to become Africa’s next presenter on TLC (Channel 172 on DStv). Here is a short one on one interview with the passionate presenter. He was born in the Zambezi region but grew up in Grootfontein. Currently he is studying Economics at the University of Namibia (Unam). He found out about the competition on Facebook, grabbing what he saw as a great opportunity as he always wanted to be a presenter. “I also got a lot of encouragement from my friends,” he says. Passion, a whole lot of passion is what David is. “I have already started getting so much support, not only from within Namibia but from across Africa. I have even been compared to Top Billing presenters, which is very humbling.” He believes that every dream is possible and also promised his mother before she passed on that he would pursue his dream of being a TV presenter. “Presenting has been my escape from everything and I believe am given this talent for a reason.” Back in 2012 he took part in a local competition and was selected as one finalist. David would like to say that Africa should watch out because Namibian talent has arrived!
