Defensive driving can save Namibian lives
Defensive driving is simply applying common sense. I did the same course in the UK. If a car is coming at you, reduce your speed. Don’t speed or keep the same speed to show the other guy. Actually see if it is safe to go on the side. That is the meaning of defensive driving. Avoid touching the oncoming car at all costs. That’s what defensive driving means. In Namibia you have people who abandon logic when driving. Remember a car is a machine and it is the driver who must do the thinking. It’s drivers who must say ‘there is a car or person in front of me, let me slow down’. Right now what happens is drivers flashing their lights or hooting, while keeping on driving at 180 km/h. Think for the car instead and apply brakes at the same time. Nghelo Ya Tate
