RUNDU – The Swapo Party regional conference for Kavango East at Rundu on Thursday nominated Alfons Dikuwa and Bertha Nyambe-Dinyando as its two nominees for the electoral college scheduled for the weekend, to stand for parliamentary seats on a Swapo ticket.
Dikuwa is the current Kavango East Swapo Party Elders Council (SPEC) secretary and Nyambe-Dinyando is a Swapo branch mobiliser.
The four delegates who will accompany the candidates to the conference are Swapo Party Youth League’s regional secretary Anselm Marungu, Christian Muriki who is the district coordinator for Mukwe Constituency, the regional secretary for Swapo Party Women’s Council (SPWC) Ernestine Ndumba and Mashare Constituency district mobiliser Martina Shipipa.
“Thank you to everyone who made this possible, this is the unity that we require for us to achieve whatever we set ourselves as goals. I said it earlier that we are going to vote but in the voting process we must know that the process is there to build a nation. So let’s go out there and build the Namibia we want for ourselves, nobody is going to build it for us. As our Vision 2030 says, Namibia shall be made industrious by its own people,” said the chairperson of the national leaders assigned to Kavango East Region, James Sankwasa, after the outcomes were read.
Meanwhile in Kavango West, during their regional conference held on August 21, they elected the candidates for the ‘pot’ : Kletus Karondo with Emma Veikko, and their delegates are Kristine Ngilundilwa, Cesilia Anton, Filipus Tenga and Joseph Kandjimi.
