The Dogg’s album launch disappointing
"Windhoek Kwaito star, The Dogg’s highly anticipated launch of his latest album, Respect my Hustle, turned out to be a disappointment after failing to deliver at what many hyped about. Even top South African big guns Drumboss Heavy K and Speedy could not save the show at the Palm Tree Park last Friday. Before the show started, members of the Mshasho Production owned by The Dogg, among those who performed on the night, begun to exchange blows making some fans uncomfortable with their unpleasant behaviours. The show which, attended by 600, was also marred by a poor sound quality. One of the fans who preferred to be anonymous could not hold back his frustration stating that The Dogg failed to spend money to perfect the event and make it worthy. “The Dogg recently received millions of dollars from Swapo. Where did he take the money? He should have used the money to organise his event well instead of that crap,” says the source. Due to technical errors some of the lined up artists at the show like Oteya, Female Donkey, Satlam and Sunny Boy were not satisfying to watch and many couldn’t wait for them to get off the stage. The Dogg himself took to the stage past midnight in front of a sleepy crowd and to worsen matters he couldn’t get the audience attention with his new tunes being compelled to switch to his old hits which frustrated the fans more.
