2015-08-05Staff Report 2 Walvis Bay A young resident of Walvis Bay – said to be in his mid-20s – died on Monday afternoon when the vehicle he was travelling in collided head-on with an oncoming truck in the vicinity of the Walvis Bay road block. The deceased died instantly at the scene of the crash about 3 km outside the harbour town yesterday evening after his Sport Utility Vehicle – according to bystanders – reportedly swerved out of his lane on the B2 road between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund and crashed into an oncoming Wesbank truck. The truck driver survived the accident unscathed. Deputy Commissioner of the Namibian Police in Erongo, Ottilie Kashupuulwa told New Era yesterday the name of the deceased could not yet be released, as his next of kin had not yet been informed about the tragic accident. 2015-08-05Staff Report 2
