DTA Summons Kanyetu Over Utterances
By Kuvee Kangueehi Windhoek The DTA of Namibia will be calling its organiser in the Kavango Region, Vincent Kanyetu, to a disciplinary hearing following his announcement on National Radio on Wednesday morning that the DTA members in the Kavango do not want Kaura to stand for re-election. The secretary general of the DTA, Alois Gende, informed New Era yesterday that the party has taken disciplinary action against Kanyetu and he is on his way to Rundu to hand over a letter to Kanyetu to inform him about the disciplinary hearing. Gende said the date for the disciplinary hearing has not yet been set and Kanyetu will be called in to explain his actions before the party decides on whether to suspend or expel him. Gende said it is not the first time that Kanyetu, who belongs to the 'reform group' within the DTA, has made the call for Kaura to step down in order for the youthful parliamentarian, McHenry Venaani, to take over. Some people claim that Kanyetu made the announcement because he was unhappy with Kaura after the latter refused to give him a loan of N$50??????'??
