Eenhana Defeat Puts Damper on RDP
"By John Ekongo WINDHOEK Commentators say the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) defeat by the Swapo Party at Eenhana, a constituency generally viewed as a potential base for the RDP, is a bad start. Commentators believe the new party has to come up with something dramatic like showcasing a major policy position or the defection of a 'big fish', just to win back confidence. One commentator even suggested the RDP forego Omuthiya unless it is sure that the results would not be disastrous like Eenhana. ""They might want to kiss goodbye to Omuthiya as a strategy and then concentrate on building the party. Testing the party when it is so fractious and fragile is taxing and could spell the end of Hidipo,"" said commentators who preferred anonymity. The Swapo Party thrashed RDP and the Congress of Democrats (CoD). The victory meant that the blue, red and green outfit retained Eenhana. Swapo Party took 4??????'?????'?????????????"
