A 31-year-old man is recuperating in the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital following a mob attack after he allegedly stabbed another man to death on Saturday in the Uuvudhiya area at around 18h00.
Oshana police spokesperson Thomas Aiyambo said the suspect was charged with murder but is currently in hospital under police guard.
Police say the victim was stabbed six times in the chest with an Okapi knife.
“The victim’s age and residential address are not known at the moment, and the motive behind the stabbing is also not known yet,” said Aiyambo.
In an unrelated matter, a 19-year-old woman was charged with child neglect after she gave birth and abandoned the baby.
The incident happened on Friday at an unknown time at Uutala location in Ondangwa.
“Ondangwa police officers on patrol received a call from the public members that there’s a girl who is bleeding heavily in that location. While they were on the way to attend to the girl, another report came in that a man found a baby in the bushes behind Uutala location,” said Aiyambo.
Both the suspect and the baby were taken to the Onandjokwe state hospital and are reportedly in a stable condition. - email@example.com
