Fenata to Honour Late Bessinger
"By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK The Federation of Namibia Tourism Association, Fenata, will host its annual gala dinner in honour of Namibia's first Minister of Wildlife, Conservation and Tourism (now called the Ministry of Environment and Tourism), the late Niko Bessinger. The occasion will also mark Fenata's 15th anniversary. It will be held on Saturday. ""The first President of the Board of Fenata, Johnnie Hamman, will share some recollections of Niko Bessinger's contributions to the growing tourism industry that exists today,"" a statement issued by Fenata read. Hamman's statement will be followed by a remembrance from Tangeni Erkana, former Permanent Secretary under the late Bessinger at the previous Ministry of Wildlife, Conservation and Tourism. After these tributes, Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism Leon Jooste will, on behalf of the tourism industry, make a presentation to the family of the late Niko Bessinger as a token of the highest respect and appreciation for his significant achievements. "
