FNB lauds success of Ongwediva Trade Fair
The recent Ongwediva Trade Fair, which is always a highlight on the calendar of FNB Namibia, has led to some great business opportunities and the bank is excited about the fact that they have been able to help numerous people become part of the banked population, or simply answer numerous queries and clear up any misconceptions. Area Manager FNB Namibia Rodney Forbes said: “For us, a Trade Fair is more than being able to sell our products and services. It is most importantly about interacting with our customers and helping them to become smarter about their banking, thereby saving them time and money.” He advised that the focus points were cross-selling, cell phone banking, online banking and marketing the brand, but added that “The one that stood out – according to our staff at the stand – was the re-education of customers about the FNB products, with emphasis on the investment products which were also driven through a variety of competitions held.” Most asked questions included the following: who qualifies for a FNB loan; can a non-FNB client qualify for any of our credit facilities: do we offer bursaries to students; the types of investment we offer; how to use online banking; the features and benefits of our transmission/lifestyle accounts, and the qualifying criteria for different accounts.” According to Forbes another great success story of the Ongwediva Trade Fair was the fact that the bank could educate SME’s about the financial services that the bank offers and more than 20 SME visitors were assisted, while a number of credit cards and personal loans were also approved.
