From the Tjitendero Family
"To friends, colleagues, comrades and associates of Dr MosÃÆ'Æ'Æ'ÃÆ''šÃ‚© Penaani Tjitendero: Prayers, letters of praise, condolences, fragrant flowers, smiling faces, embracing arms, soothing voices, and ever-kind eyes flooded into our home and have surrounded us from every side - sustaining and loving us since the setting of the sun MosÃÆ'Æ'Æ'ÃÆ''šÃ‚© Penaani Tjitendero ... Please accept this humble note as an expression of our thanks. For us as a family it has been an immense comfort that the memories, photographs, letters, articles and stories shared are honest and loving accounts of the man we knew, and the man we remember and love. In him, as you have attested, we had a human manifestation of power, humility, insight, intellect, nobility, wisdom and so many other admirable qualities. With a sad-sweet smile, one notices that as one just truthfully tells of his life, one tells the story of a great man. We feel that he lived the following words: ""Be a well-wisher of humanity and a servant of mankind. Thus the strength of the Kingdom will uphold thee and the avenues of revelation open to thee...Grow in humility and meekness daily, until thou attainest eternal glory and everlasting grace."" 'Abdu'l-BahÃÆ'Æ'Æ'ÃÆ''šÃ‚Â, Tablets of 'Abdu'l-BahÃÆ'Æ'Æ'ÃÆ''šÃ‚ Abbas (vol. 3), p. 523. What an honour, what a gift to have known him ... and now - to have him watching over us all! He was our earth - now he is our sky. We all recall his life's example amidst struggles, and we hold fast to his memory, daily calling on him in times of need, and through our deeds carry on his legacy. It is clear that his setting sun has now become like the evening star - an aim, a guide, and a comfort - the first indication that even at night there is illumination. Beyond our heavy hearts and tear-filled eyes, the sheer number of extended family and friends that we would like to thank makes it near impossible to thank you each by name now. We truly appreciate all the help - material, emotional and spiritual - that each and every one of you has provided for our family. Be assured that whether or not we've seen you with our own eyes or received you personally, we know of and are grateful for your support. In time, as we live on, we pray God we will have the opportunity to speak one on one and let each one of you know - sincerely - how your help has been like resting on angels' wings. Sincerely The Tjitendero Family"
