Gambling house staff robbed nearly N$30 000

WALVIS BAY - Two employees of a gambling house in Kuisebmond were robbed of N$28 400 and two cell phones on Monday morning.

According to the police at Walvis Bay, the two employees were robbed outside the Diamond gambling house by five armed men. Crime investigations coordinator in Erongo, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu said the two employees had earlier cashed up and left the gambling house before they were approached by the five robbers.

“All five suspects were wearing surgical masks and hats. They were armed with two pistols and three knives when they surprised the employees,” Iikuyu said.

He added the suspects demanded money as well as the cell phones of the employees before fleeing the scene in a white getaway car.

The registration of the vehicle and model is still unknown at this stage, according to Iikuyu.

The police have appealed to anyone who has witnessed the incident or know the suspects or can help with any information that could lead to their arrest to contact him at 0812464757 or Detective Inspector John Mwatongwe at 0812461121 or the nearest police station. edeklerk@nepc.com.na
