Geingob arrives in Botswana
"Windhoek President Hage Geingob yesterday arrived in Gaborone, Botswana for a three-day State visit on the invitation of his Botswana counterpart, President Khama Ian Khama. Geingob is expected to hold private talks with Khama and also to address the Botswana Parliament. “The visit is expected to be an opportunity for further strengthening existing relations between Namibia and Botswana, to monitor the implementation of existing programmes between the two countries, as well as to explore possible new areas of cooperation. “As such, the two countries will discuss bilateral cooperation and some bilateral agreements will be signed,” press secretary in the Office of the President Albertus Aochamub said in a brief statement. A Namibia-Botswana business seminar has been scheduled for today to coincide with the official State visit. Geingob is accompanied by Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development Immanuel Ngatjizeko, Minister of Works and Transport Alpheus !Naruseb, Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry John Mutorwa, Mines and Energy Minister Obed Kandjoze and Minister of Economic Planning in the Presidency and Director-General of the National Planning Commission (NPC) Tom Alweendo, among others senior government officials.
