2008-05-21Staff Report 2 "By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK Namibia's first Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry, Hage Geingob, is recovering from a prostate seed implant therapy he underwent in the United States last week. Geingob could not attend the Cabinet retreat underway in Walvis Bay as he only returned on Sunday. He said he is doing well after the implant, which lasted five hours. Geingob said the procedure was not very complicated and that he did not need an operation. He noted that he goes for medical check-ups every year and that enabled the doctors to detect the problem early. ""In February, the doctors detected that the prostrate gland was larger than normal and thus I went for a second test."" Geingob said the doctors gave him a 98 percent chance of recovery but advised him to continue monitoring his situation. Geingob who is also the vice president of the Swapo Party thanked President Hifikepunye Pohamba for his support. He also thanked all other well-wishers. " 2008-05-21Staff Report 2
