Grades 10 and 12 results to be released on December 20
2013-12-09Staff Report 2 WINDHOEK – The Ministry of Education will release the provisional Grade 10 (JSC) and Grade 12 (NSSC) Higher Level results for full-time and part-time candidates on December 20 2013. This year 44 374 candidates comprising 34 096 full-time and 10 278 part-time candidates were registered for the Junior Secondary Certificate (Grade 10) examinations at 636 junior secondary schools and 163 part-time tuition centres. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Alfred Ilukena said the number of markers who were involved in the marking of the Grade 10 answer scripts was 1 597 compared to 1 626 in 2012. Some 11 660 of the 54 521 candidates (full-time and part-time combined) entered for one or more NSSC Higher Level subject. The number of Higher Level candidates increased by 1 022 (9.6 percent) when compared to 2012. Some 211 markers were involved in the marking of the Grade 12 Higher Level subjects. The ministry further announced that the Grade 12 Ordinary Level results will be released not later than January 18 2014. “Tremendous progress has been made by the Directorate of National Examinations and Assessment to bring the release of the Grade 12 Ordinary Level as near as possible to the Grade 10 and Grade 12 Higher Level results,” he noted. The results will be available on the website of the Directorate National Examinations and Assessment at www.dnea.gov.na and the website of the Ministry of Education www.moe.gov.na and will also be accessible via an SMS service. Ilukena said the following procedure should be followed when using the SMS service. Send a message which gives the name of the examination, for example JSC followed by the surname and first name of the candidate. Example (a): JSC Kalomoh Fennie Example (b): NSSCH Kaperu Theo ~ OR Write your full examination number Example (a): JSC 101E25002 Example (b):NSSCH 10HE250025 This information should be sent to 2929 or 99099 and in response to a student’s surname, the name and results will be displayed on the screen of their cellphone. Both the websites and the SMS service will become active on Friday, December 20 2013 at midnight. Ilukena reminded all candidates who were registered for the 2013 national examinations to have their candidate numbers nearby in order to be able to access their results. “Regional offices will provide a service during office hours by supplying the results from the broadsheets to candidates and relatives who personally visit the regional offices or phone the numbers given on the list,” the PS further explained.
