Gunners Promise to Claim Scalps of BA
Carlos Kambaekwa WINDHOEK With two rounds of matches to go before the curtain finally comes down on the MTC Namibia Premiership - five teams are still in the hunt for the coveted league title while three others are jostling for places in the elite league, come next season. NDF Lawsure Mighty Gunners are amongst those facing the dreaded relegation axe together with fellow league rookies Namdeb Fedics United and former league champions APS Blue Waters, but the men in uniform have no intention of accompanying United back to familiar territory. Gunners have been boosted by a massive sponsorship ahead of their do or die remaining clashes against Black Africa and Orlando Pirates respectively. The team received a whopping sponsorship of N$300,000 from Lawsure Insurers and will now be known as NDF Lawsure Mighty Gunners. Dawid Snewe's charges are highly charged up and have promised to cement their place in top flight with a comprehensive win when they welcome 4th placed Black Africa at the Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo tomorrow afternoon. Third placed Oshikandela Ramblers will have a mammoth task when the out of sorts Pionierspark based outfit travel up north for their tough encounter against Oshakati City at the Independence Stadium in Oshakati. Tigers are at home to APS Blue Waters at the Khomasdal Stadium in Windhoek, while Orlando Pirates entertain Eleven Arrows across town at the SKW Stadium in Olympia. Defending champions Civics host Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) at Windhoek's Independence Stadium. Basement residents Namdeb Fedics United have a date with African Stars at the J Stephanus Stadium in Keetmanshoop (19h00). Unless otherwise stated, all matches will start at 15h00.
