‘I will stop Milanzi in first round’, warns Heita

Namibia’s WBO Africa super bantamweight champion Mateus Heita yesterday sounded the war drums when he sternly warned his Zimbabwean opponent Hassan Milanzi to come well-prepared for next month’s ‘Together As One Part 8’ boxing bonanza set for Windhoek’s Ramatex Hall on 29 October.

Speaking at the pre-fight press conference held in the capital, the undefeated Heita said he plans to maintain his unscathed record by all means necessary, and come next month, Milanzi will feel his unforgiving wrath.

He boasts a record of eight wins from the same number of bouts and currently holds both the WBO Africa super bantamweight and WBA Pan African super bantamweight titles, and will be defending both his titles against the equally determined Milanzi, whose record stands at 11 wins, two losses and one draw.

“I am prepared, and I can assure all my fans that they will come to see the very best of me. I have not fought for a while now, and this upcoming fight would be the perfect opportunity for the world to see what they have been missing. As for my opponent, I will show him what I am capable of. That fight will not last for more than one round, no ways!” he added.

Also in the lineup for next month’s bonanza is Fillipus Nghitumbwa, who will be defending his WBO global super bantamweight title against South Africa’s Sabelo Ngebinyana.

An upbeat Nghitumbwa said he is ready to take the fight to the South African.

“My opponent should be prepared to feel the heat because I have waited long for such an opportunity. I know his weight differs slightly from mine, and that won’t make any difference because I am always ready to put my opponents down. Even if my promoters could fly him to Windhoek now tonight, I will still show him that I am the better fighter,” boasted Nghitumbwa.

Meanwhile, unbeaten Paulinus Ndjolonimus will likewise be in action when he takes on Ghana’s Delali Miledzi, who is also undefeated after 16 fights in the paid ranks.

Touching on his upcoming fight, Ndjolonimus said: “I am a man of few words, and my talking will be done in the ring. This will be a great fight, and I can promise that I will stop him at the beginning of the fight”.

Charles Shinima will be defending his WBO Africa welterweight title against Nigeria’s Tiwo Olowuon on the same night.

General tickets cost N$50, while VIP tickets go for N$500 and VVIP tables seating 10 people cost N$20 000. Tickets are available at all Webtickets outlets at Pick & Pay stores countrywide.
