Invest in Namibia conference starts tomorrow
2016-11-07Staff Report 2 Windhoek - The scene is set for over 500 local and international potential investors to attend the two-day Namibia International Conference titled ‘Invest in Namibia’, on November 8 and 9 in the capital. During the conference, which is dubbed a first of its kind, strong emphasis will be on business-to-business deals. During the event the county will also showcase a number of investment opportunities, including housing, energy and infrastructure projects. The conference is themed “Promoting Investment for Inclusive Growth and Industrialisation”. Organisers anticipate the participation of 150 international guests, 150 local investors and 200 other delegates comprising industry experts, captains of industry, legislators, officials and governors of all 14 regions. President Hage Geingob is scheduled to officially open the conference. Thus far potential investors from Brazil, Turkey, Germany, China, USA, Angola, South Africa and Zimbabwe have confirmed their attendance. Other stakeholders such as the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Air Namibia, Namibian Broadcasting Corporation and the Namibian Ports Authority are involved and Standard Bank Namibia is the main sponsor with its contribution of N$1.5 million. 2016-11-07Staff Report 2
