Ipangelwa debuts with ‘The Contradictions of Antiquity’...New book hopes to awaken reader’s imagination through expressions of life in different forms of literature

Modest Ipangelwa marks his debut in the publishing scene with the release of, The Contradictions of Antiquity (published by Partridge India), a literary embodiment of life expressed in different ways that hopes to awaken the reader’s imagination.

Set in the 19th century of love inquisition, the book is about the world where a man finally finds himself, first in his imaginations and dreams. Secondly, he becomes a hunter where he experiences being hunted and suffers tribulations to the point that he decides to proclaim it to the public. He leaves his career as a hunter of terrible things to being a poet.

The Contradictions of Antiquity is a cross-genre book that features different forms of literature. Feelings are expressed in short stories, drama and poems. Written as fiction, it offers a close relation to real-life events that has happened to a human. Ipangelwa explores all categories to test the human nature of thinking. He touches on mystery, romance and the fear of human imagination in a world that is changing.

With the book, the author hopes readers realise that literature is not just a subject at school or something that is limited. He hopes his writings encourage them to admire and appreciate works and literature of all categories. Centered on the overall theme of endurance, he also hopes that the book will help them to endure, be patient and find alternatives to navigate through life.
