Joyful Spirit Gospel Festival postponed
"Windhoek The highly anticipated Joyful Spirit Gospel Festival which was scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed to October 17. Joachim Mezger, Media Coordinator from Mezger Media Marketing, says the festival has been postponed due to the lack of a high quality sound system and stage. “We did not find any local company that can provide the sound required and accommodation is quite harsh as we could not accommodate the production team,” says Mezger. The festival got gospel music lovers hyped up ever since it was announced with thousands of tickets sold in the first week. “Fans don’t have to worry as the show will go on, tickets are still valid. They should actually be more excited about the show because it’s going to be better. We are working on the production side and we chose a different day where every fan can enjoy their favourite gospel music live and for that matter be filmed on DVD,” he promises. The festival promise to be the best showcase of local, national and international gospel music performers, including the multi-award winning and globally-acclaimed 60 member gospel group Joyous Celebration as the main act. “We promise to host the pre meet with fans who would like to take pictures with the group members when they come to Windhoek. We will update the public during our media conference on Tuesday.” The local support gospel acts still remain with the likes of D-naff, Bianca, Longelomwene Choir, Big K’s, Joy Devine. Tickets are still available at all Computicket outlets at N$200 in advance and N$250 at the gate for standing access. Students pay N$150 in advance and N$200 at the gate, whereas tickets cost N$100 for children in advance and N$150 at the gate and N$300 for the seated dome. "
