Land of the rising sun beckons ‘Prince’ Naidjala
WINDHOEK - “I fully respect Tomoki Kameda, because he is a world champion and a reputable boxer in Japan, but my respect for Kameda will come to an end when the first bell of the opening round of our fight rings. After that, I will do what I do best and that’s to bring the world title home.” Those were the confident words of World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Bantamweight champion, Immanuel ‘Prince’ Naidjala earliers this week ahead of his gight against Kameda. The nimble footed Namibian will go toe to toe with the WBO Bantamweight world champion at the Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka, Japan on the 3rd of next month. A confident Naidjala, expressed satisfaction with his training regimen so far, saying he is more than ready and super fit to make the Namibian nation proud. He added that he wants to keep it simple and formulate what his team has set out when he meets Kameda, who dethroned Paulus Ambunda to claim the belt. Naidjala and his support team including his handler Nestor Tobias leave for the ‘land of the rising sun’ - Japan on Monday. Shihepo promises fireworks against Wanyonyi Following his unconvincing defeat against German opponent Arthur Abraham earlier this year, Namibia’s Super Middleweight boxer, Wilberforce ‘Black Mamba’ Shihepo, has promised fireworks when he confronts Kenyan pugilist Daniel Wanyonyi, for the vacant WBO Africa Super Middleweight title. The pair will square off in the main bout of the “No Mercy Part-2’’ boxing jamboree slated for the 6th of next month at the Windhoek Country Club. “After my defeat against Abraham, I really haven’t been myself and in my next bout against the Kenyan, I will fight my heart out. I will fight with everything if that is what it takes to reclaim my title and redeem myself. I’m a fighter, I was born a fighter and I say it’s time to make my country proud,’’ said Shihepo By Otniel Hembapu
