Learners celebrates 25th independence anniversary
WINDHOEK-Learners from the Hage Geingob Primary School, Concordia College, Augustinium and A Shipena secondary schools in the Khoma region curtain raised  the 25th independence anniversary celebrations with a debate and civic education programmes at their schools last week. The celebrations were organised by Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) as part of activities leading up to the 25th  Namibia’s independence anniversary. The debate and civic education programme is aimed at understanding learners’ views on historical events that led to the independence of Namibia as well as their expectations from the President-elect Dr Hage Geingob and the Cabinet. MICT Campaigns Manager, Shasimana Uugulu says the programme is also aimed at giving learners a platform to hone their debating skills while proposing solutions to social challenges that learners are facing. He adds that participating teams were given medals and certificates and winning teams trophies.
