2015-12-03Staff Report 2 Keetmanshoop A man who was arrested and charged with dealing in drugs will appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court today. The Namibian male, whose age is still unknown, was arrested by the police in Keetmanshoop’s Tseiblaagte area on Monday after being found in possession of Mandrax tablets with a street value of N$685. The //Karas Police crime investigations coordinator Commissioner Rudolf Isaak confirmed the arrest. Mandrax is one of the most common drugs used on the region’s streets and in July this year The Namibian newspaper reported that the police seized 4 895 grams of cannabis, 92 Mandrax tablets and five units of cocaine valued at N$17 235, during raids on suspected drug dealers’ houses as well as body searches on suspects in the month of June. Mandrax is a synthetic drug made by the mixing of chemicals, which produces a tablet, which might come in different colours and is highly addictive. 2015-12-03Staff Report 2
